[Lcdproc] lcdproc 20*4 LCD key events

Hi all,
I am using first time this lcdproc, currently I am using picolcd version 0.5.3,
in this LCD there is keys like F!,F2,F3,Esc,up,down,ok.
but I am not able to get the key events at userspace , I want to operate various operation with these keys, so can you tell me how to access key events.
