IMHO that is not a real solution.

My interpretation of the lcdproc-documentation was the following:
Basically all lines are used as Xn and Yn to build a matrix (only
Xn if used as direct key input). According to the used connection
type, the number of usable keypad lines is reduced.
And so was my understanding for the backlight line too. If "backlight=yes"
then this line is not available for keypad usage and should be masked
out.
For me the actual behaviour of the backlight signal is a bug.
By defining KeyMatrix_X_Y it should be clear, which lines must be
masked out and scanned.
I think the point is how to handle a double-usage of lines. Who wins?

The software should be de-buged in my opinion, to only use the defined
key-lines...
