[Lcdproc] Fedora 11 + imon VFD not reliably setting goodbye message.

I've updated to fedora 11 on my antec fusion (imon vfd with ir), and I'm
finding that about half the time the goodbye message isn't being set.
The antec keeps the display powered when 'off' so it ends up stuck
displaying whatever was last on the screen, usually the
default/background server which is a bit rubbish.

I'd guess it fails about half the time, maybe a bit less frequently but
something of that order.

Has anyone else seen this / its a known issue / there's a workaround or
something?

I was wondering about tweaking the chkconfig priorities but they look
sane as far as I can tell. My guess is that LCDd tries to write
asynchronously to /dev/lcd0 when its shutting down and sometimes by then
lcdproc has shutdown and the device has already gone bye-bye.

Cheers,

Chris Simmons.
