Hi everyone,
I=92ve got the LCD screen in my Antec Fusion Black (you can see an =
example of
it here:
http://www.soundgraph.com/Eng_/Products/oem3.aspx?topMenu=3D2&subMenu=3D1=
&leftMe
nu=3D43) working with some patches to both LCDproc & LIRC (LIRC contains =
the
kernel module). So for anyone interested, please check out my website:
http://codeka.com/blogs/index.php?cat=3D30
Now, a couple of points:
1. As far as I know, the LCD screen is pixel-based *only* -- no =
character
support. That means for my driver I had to include a simple 6x8 pixel =
font.
I don't know if LCDproc already has support for this sort of thing =
already,
but if not, we might be better off moving this out of the iMON LCD =
driver
and into the main code -- might be useful elsewhere.
2. Even though the device is pixel-based only, I've only included text
support (using my special font). This is only temporary, but in the =
future
I'll be changing various bits & pieces to make better use of it (for
example, the vertical and horizontal bar support).
3. The iMON LCD device has a bunch of icons around the outside. Now, I
know how to turn them on&off via the protocol, but I'm not sure how to
incorporate this into LCDproc. I'm guessing we might need some extra
commands for the server to support it, but I'm not familiar with the =
code so
there might already be something that would work.
4. I have a number of issues with my LIRC code, but I'll think I'll =
bring
those up on the LIRC mailing list :-)
I'd just like to point out that I didn't really do much of the hard work
here... I found someone else who's don=92t it all already here:
http://imonapi.tripod.com/
So please take a look, and let me know what you think :-)
