What version of LCDproc are you running? I fixed a MatrixOrbital
problem a while back - it was an incorrect command to set brightness,
IIRC (different models of MO displays require different commands for
brightness, contrast, etc., unfortunately, due to command-creep over
the past 10 years). AFAIK, that change hasn't hit a released version
of LCDproc yet, but has been in the nightly CVS releases for several
months. Get one of the semi-recent nightly tarballs or the latest
right from the CVS repository and try that. If you still have
problems, write again and I can see what's up.
I still have my 1999-era MO 20x4 VKD display (VFD w/keyboard), and am
entirely happy to continue to regression-test the MO driver. I don't
have any of the newer displays, nor any MO LED displays, so I should
see about a "backpack" interface one of these days.
