[Lcdproc] lcdexec menu command output

Hello list!

As a user of LCDd and lcdexec (and also lcdproc), I would like to  
display the output of a command started by lcdexec on the display  
(i.e. when starting a backup script that it's working now, displaying  
when it's finished etc. instead of jumping back in the menu structure  
and hoping that it's running in the background). Is something like  
this possible with lcdexec or other solutions?
