[Lcdproc] LCDProc Ubuntu Install help

Hi All

Has anybody installed LCDproc on the Ubuntu OS, I'm a complete newbie on the 
Linux platform, and I have a nice Ubuntu box up and running, I wanted to 
finish my new case with the Thermaltake Media LAB VFD Panel. its the VFD 
that plugs into the USB port. Was wondering if you could point me in the 
right direction, I tried to installed the LCDproc, but I'm not sure it 
installs correctly from the Ubuntu package installer, not even sure what 
version to install. Any help would be much appreciated. I just want to use 
LCDproc to scroll across whats playing from the CD player or or XMMS and 
Beep media player.
