Here we go with the 1st draft:
Here's how to test the two files (just in case):
=2D extract a quite recent CVS version of LCDproc
=2D copy the two files I sent you over the ones with the same names
=C2=A0 in the server/drivers/ sub-directory of the source directory
=2D run ./configure with the options you like/need
=2D run make
=2D edit LCDd.conf in the source dircetory according to your installation
=C2=A0 =C2=A0* the Driver=3DCwLnx directive in the [server] section
It is important not to change the DriverPath directive in the=20
[server] section. It needs to stay:
DriverPath=3Dserver/drivers/
=C2=A0 =C2=A0* the directives in the [CwLnx] section
Don't forget to add a directive
Model=3D1602
in there to make the driver aware that you have a character display.
=2D make sure any other LCDd daemon is stopped
=2D start LCDd from the source directory using the command line
=C2=A0 =C2=A0./server/LCDd -c ./LCDd.conf=20
=C2=A0 plus the other command line options you like/need.
=C2=A0 Note: the -c ./LCDd.conf part is crucial. If you leave it out=20
=C2=A0 LCDd will use the default LCDd.conf file which has the=20
=C2=A0 DriverPath setting pointing to your originial driver
=C2=A0 directory with the old CwLnx driver.
=2D use any LCDproc client to check how LCDd with the new driver
=C2=A0 behaves.
Please test and report feedback.
The driver should:
=2D be able to show icons as well as horizontal and vertical bars
=2D use the standard heartbeat
