Not so much different.
It has almost the same command set:
only a few commands more and a subtle differnce in the set_char command.

This might be related to the trick thart the CwLnx driver currently does with 
the heartbeat.

I am working on a version of the driver that supports both the 12232 and the 
1602 and I hope to have a 1st draft ready this afternoon.
Do you mind testing it if I send you the files ?
