I have cleaned up the code for the SMP scren in CVS a bit and did 
a little bit of testing with it (I copied the values for the 1st CPU over to 7 
non-existing ones to generate an 8-CPU display)

Maybe the new code will also help
It should be in tonight's (tomorrow's) tar balls.

Please give it a try

PS: I am not sure if it will improve the situation, but it should at least not
      worsen it (and besides the code is shorter and clearer)
