IIRC Ethan reported a glitch with the Makefile on Oct 1st, which got fixed 
on the same day in CVS
So it might be that this particial tar ball had problems, but the latter ones 
are O.K. according to Ethan.

Please make sure that the file MxOrb.so in the directory pointed to by
the DriverPath directive in the LCDd.conf you are using is the one
you compiled.
