[Lcdproc] trouble with hd44780

After playing around with the contrast, I've got that to show. LCDd
isn't showing anything though. I've checked the connections and
verified that LCDd.conf has the correct driver, ConnectionType
(winamp), and parallel port specified. I'm using the lcdproc client.
Any ideas why it wouldn't be working? Are there any common mistakes
that I can check for?
