Would you mind testing with a current version from CVS.
With the patch committed to CVS on 1st Dec. I am quite convinced the problem
does not exist any more: the incriminating code parts are hidden behind an 
#if defined(...) and therefore cannot be seen by the compiler.

Please test and confirm.
