Depending on your hard- and software not all ConnectionTypes are compiled.
If the ConnectionTypes for the parallelport are working everything is fine.

If it is a HD44780 compatible display connected to the parallel port it 
should be possible to run LCDproc on it.

Try to find out more about the wiring of the display-parallelport-cable.
Your lcd7linux configfile could help to find the correct ConnectionType.
