Are the scrambled characters you are seing =C4=8D's (i.e. c's with ^ upside=
=2Ddown=20
above it) ? Do you see the scrambled characters also for horizontal bars,
vertical bars and the heartbeat ?
Another 634 user is expieriencing similar problems and is gettting =C4=8D's
for th heartbeat and the horizontal bars as well.

If it works with the old firmware setup, one question arises.
What firmware do you have ?
(It is shown in the boot up screen of the LCD.
