It looks to me that you will run out of switches and the handling of
"unknown" options (the one for drivers) becomes a hassle.
But let us first decide the config file syntax/symantic and then decide
the options for the commandline and the priority.
(I can imagne something like '-c config1 -c config2 --heartbeat off' where
config2 overwrites the options from config1).
