Just get the plain 0.4pre9 and apply the patch.

The patch is for plain 0.4pre9. I tried porting the faster hd44780
driver, but failed on a friends OpenBSD box (This friend told me, that
my patch to the slow hd driver works). This lcd driver does not use
a kernel driver to the parallel port, but hacks /dev/io, which is not
really portable.

Unfortunately, I can't test/check this by myself, as all I have is a
Matrix Orbital (which makes me quite happy!).

Porting the i2c stuff really depends on the i2c provider and will be
very platform dependend. Net- and FreeBSD both have i2c busses in their
infrastructure, I'm sure, OpenBSD has it as well, as these guys are
quick at picking up Net- and FreeBSD's work. ;-)
