[lcdproc] big trouble

hi there!
i got king of problems compiling lcdproc-0.4-pre9 on my RedHat 7.0 System.
after installing gcc, make and the needed libraries i tried a make on
lcdproc.
but it does not work.
as an error-result i get back:
cpp0: Invalid option -lang-c-c++-comments
as i did not make any changes on Makefile.config, i am a little confused
about that error...
maybe anyone knows a solution?
